Amitabh Recommended my Name to Chiru
Writer-director Puri Jagannadh is a contented man these days. Ever since an official announcement came from actor Ram Charan that Puri Jagannadh will be wielding the mantle for Chiranjeevi's landmark 150th film, Jagan is elated. Revealing more, Puri stated that it was Bollywood Mega Star Amitabh Bachchan who recommended his name for Chiranjeevi. "During the promotion of Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, Amitabh was in Hyderabad. RGV, me, Chiranjeevi and many others were there to see and greet Amitabh. Then Amitabh has asked Chiranjeevi to comeback to films and do his 150th film. He suggested my name to direct the 150th film," shared Puri.
Puri further revealed that how Chiranjeevi chosen him as directors from others. "I got a call from Chiranjeevi one day and he asked me to come to his office. When I've gone, Chiranjeevi garu has a list in his hand. The list has names of several top directors in industry where only my name was highlighted. As soon as Chiranjeevi garu told me that I'll be directing his 150th film, I've hugged him and assured him to give my best."
Puri claimed that he's been Chiranjeevi's fan right from his childhood and expressed his happiness as his dream to direct him came true. The most-awaited movie is expected to go onto sets from August.
